In “Rickshaw Boy Training” the boy must practice his running while holding a cane behind his back. The cane forces the boy’s body to the position that is roughly comparable to pulling a rickshaw. To make the experience even more realistic, the trainer has added wrist weights. Rickshaw boy training is about strength, endurance and posture. When it comes to posture the rickshaw boy also learns that he must “make his master proud” by sporting an erection as he is running. Quite fittingly, the trainer is using a riding crop to guide, motivate, correct and punish the boy.
